Dr. Leavey returned to Vermont in 2009 after graduating from Tufts University and has been with the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg since 2014, where he now serves as medical director. His focuses are surgery and dentistry. At home, he and his wife, Anna, enjoy life with their son, daughter, two Labrador Retrievers, and two cats. Outside the hospital, he loves spending time with family and playing music.

Dr. Patrick Leavey

Medical Director

Dr. Ali Harris graduated from Princeton University and the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in Vermont for over 20 years. She enjoys caring for pets through every stage of life, with special interests in complex medical cases, cytology, and preventative medicine. At home, she has two Labrador Retrievers, Boomer and Bauer, and a cat, Slash. In her free time, she loves gardening, cooking, staying active, walking her dogs, and traveling to visit her two children.

Veterinarian

Dr. Asya Zolotusky graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has worked in both emergency and general practice around New England and enjoys helping pets through every stage of care. Outside of work, she loves backpacking, rock climbing, and spending time with her family, along with her Mastiff mix, Tuna, and cat, Makkuro.

Dr. Asya Zolotusky

Originally from California, Dr. Levin earned his DVM from Ross University in 1999, followed by an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York and a three-year residency in surgery completed in 2003. He is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has served as Staff Surgeon and Chief of Surgery at referral and emergency hospitals across the U.S. His special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and he has performed thousands of TPLO procedures for cruciate ligament repair.

Dr. Garrett Levin

Dr. Jennifer Elliott joined the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg in 2004. In 2016, she launched her own mobile practice, which she ran for six years before returning to AHH in 2020 to be closer to family.

Dr. Kara Palac joined The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg in 2020, returning to her beloved Vermont. She graduated from Tufts University in 2014 and has worked in both mixed-animal and small animal practices in New York and New Jersey. Her clients value her candid approach and sense of humor. Outside of work, she enjoys running half marathons (aiming for all 50 states), baking, watching Netflix, and spending time with her husky, Ginger, and horse, Koko.

Dr. Kara Palac

Dr. DeMoy joined our practice in 2016 after graduating from Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She practiced mixed animal medicine in New York before returning to Vermont in 2002. She lives in Orwell with her husband, Dave, their three daughters, two dogs, a gecko, and many chickens. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, needlework, crochet, felting, and reading.

Jessica, originally from Long Island, NY, has 15 years of veterinary experience ranging from front desk work to assisting in surgery and helping launch a specialty hospital. She now enjoys life in Vermont with her husband, three dogs, and two cats. In her free time, she loves hiking, camping, horseback riding, and exploring new foods.

Camden grew up in Vermont and studied at Castleton University before joining the team in 2022. She has cared for animals since childhood, fostering many litters of kittens along the way. Camden now lives in Burlington with her boyfriend, Peter, and their two dogs, Lilly and Charlie. Together they enjoy hiking, trips to the beach, and relaxing at home.

Julia grew up in upstate New York and graduated from UVM in 2020 with a degree in animal science. Before joining the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg in 2021, she worked on a dude ranch out west, trained horses in New Hampshire, and worked at a doggy daycare in Boston. In her free time, Julia enjoys hiking with her dogs Kiko and Meli, knitting with her cats Bean and Raisin, and baking treats.

Moriah, a Vermont native, joined the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg team in 2019 after a career in grooming at PetSmart. She lives on her boyfriend's family dairy farm in Hinesburg with their children, beagle Kiara, cat Magenta, and a herd of cows. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family exploring the farm fields.

Moriah Pratt

Born in Arizona and raised in Vermont, Sarah has been a veterinary technician for 13 years and joined our team in 2015. She and her wife, Sommer, live in Lincoln with their three cats and their mastiff/boxer mix, Malcom. In her free time, Sarah enjoys camping, fishing, kayaking, hunting, and floating the New Haven River.

Brittney joined us in 2013 after graduating from the Vermont Technical College Veterinary Technician program. A Vermont native, she has completed several ultramarathons and multi-day races, though these days she enjoys time at home with her baby, Jolene, and her dog, Jojo.

Rachel graduated from Vermont Technical College in 2005 and soon after joined the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg as a technician. She became Technician Supervisor/Assistant Manager in 2013 and has a special interest in emergency and critical care. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her dog Dexter, Zumba, and spending time with her husband, daughter, cat, and chickens.

Sofia, a Hinesburg native, graduated from the University at Albany in 2022 with a degree in Communications. Inspired by bringing her pets to the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg as a child, she joined the team after years of pet-sitting. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, working out, and playing pickleball.

Marisha, a Vermont native with a background in large animals and the Hunter Jumper circuit, now works as a customer service representative at the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg. She enjoys time with her dog Sadie, painting, writing poetry, and relaxing by Vermont's rivers in the summer.

Sierra, a Vermont native, joined the Animal Hospital of Hinesburg in 2024 while also working at a senior living center. She's studying to be a veterinary technician through Penn Foster and lives in Underhill with her daughter. In her free time, she enjoys family time, the gym, and hiking.

Emily has been a receptionist at Animal Hospital of Hinesburg since 2018. A Vermont native, she lives in Huntington with her three dogs, three cats, and a rabbit. Known as the office's "crazy cat lady," she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and tea with friends.
